Two controversial tries helped Sydney Roosters conquer at Canberra Raiders and acquire the National Rugby League Grand Final.

However, the referees shift of mind enabled they took advantage, scampering upfield to snatch victory and Sydney a break.
Earlier, Brisbane Broncos dominated the womens final to beat St George Illawarra 30-6 to eventually become the first group to win womens titles.
Julia Robinson, Raecene McGregor, lavinia Gould, Chelsea Lenarduzzi and Amber Pilley scored tries for the Broncos.
